David Nash

David and Genny NashI am a former Marine, and have worked in public service my entire life.  The majority of my experience is in emergency management where I have held positions in Radiological Protection, Training, Planning, and Operations.  I have worked in various roles in multiple Presidentially declared disasters.

Currently I work as a Correction Academy Instructor where I teach new officers how to ethically, professionally, and efficiently deal with felons.

More importantly, I am a father and a husband. I enjoys time with my young son William Tell and my school teacher wife Genny. When not working, writing, creating content for Youtube, playing on my self-reliance blog, or smoking Award Winning BBQ I am probably asleep.

I have also served as an Adjunct Criminal Justice instructor for Kaplan Career Institute’s Nashville Campus.  At Kaplan, I was the faculty advisor Kaplan’s chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association’s honor society Lambda Alpha Epsilon, the pistol team coach, and the Meggit Firearm Simulator operator.

I am an alumni of Jacksonville State University where I received a Bachelor degree in Emergency Management with a minor in Homeland Security.

Currently I am working on a Masters of Professional Studies Degree in Executive Leadership.  I have a graduate certificate in Strategic Leadership from Tennessee State University.

All my adult life I have been a member of the firearm community.  I am an NRA member, training counselor, and recruiter.  Among I have held multiple firearm licenses over the years to include (but not limited to) Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Instructor, Tennessee Certified Security Guard Trainer, OCAT Pepper Spray Instructor, Monadnock Advanced Baton Instructor. Simunitions Instructor, Nova Electronic Restraint Device Instructor, and Specialty Impact Munition Instructor.  Additionally I am a former Utah Concealed Firearm Instructor and North Dakota Concealed Weapon Test Administrator,

I have completed numerous additional courses though the Department of Homeland Security in such subjects as: Emergency Management, Response to Terrorist Attacks, Hazardous Materials, Radiological Response, and Critical Incident Stress.

I am a state certified Hazardous Material Technician, and have completed many courses in the area of WMD and Terrorism response.

I have received their highest certification given by the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee, Emergency Management Professional.

I have taken hundreds of courses in multiple disciplines, including many courses dealing with instructor development and Train the Trainer (TtT).

I use those skills to help the public, and through my experience teaching I began to write non-fiction.  However as a reader of some voraciousness, I began to have a desire to try fiction.  Currently I am working on a Social Science Fiction series called the Legion, the first book, The Deserter, is currently climbing the ranks at Amazon.
